Dr Dalton trained at St Thomas’s Hospital London and graduated from Cambridge University in 1993. He also has a Medical Management degree from City University, London. He took over the practice in 2000 from the retiring previous GP. He has slowly grown the practice and was instrumental in the recent move to the modern premises that we now operate from.
His interests in medicine are wide ranging but he particularly specialises in Medical Training and mentoring/coaching.
He also maintains an interest in Occupational Health. A lot of his time currently is spent working on Practice Based Commissioning with a large group of neighbouring practices. He strongly believes in patient autonomy and a holistic approach to care and this is reflected in the approach that the practice has taken.

Dr Roy graduated from Aberdeen university in 1998 and trained to be a GP in various hospitals in the north of Scotland. After this she worked in the Fife area until 2005 when she swapped to working locally at Ashton.
While enjoying the wide variety of challenges presented by general practice, her particular interests lie in Diabetes, Women's health and Family Planning. Her consultation style is very much patient-centred and this is reflected in the excellent satisfaction results she received from our patients in a recent survey.
She is currently also our Lead GP Trainer.

Janet is responsible for running most of the chronic disease management services (High Blood Pressure, Angina, Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, Kidney Chronic Disease) as well as pill checks, Cervical smears, HRT checks and general health promotional advice including smoking cessation work and baby immunisations.
She also does the new patient checks and can assist with other issues such as where someone may wish to consult a female about a sensitive health issue. If doing this it is important to bear in mind she isn’t trained as a doctor and as such may need to get help from one of the doctors but clearly this would be done in a sensitive and tactful manner.
Although she is a nurse and is trained in all routine treatment room type procedures such as dressings, ear syringing etc, due to time pressures she is unable to routinely offer these services and instead will direct you to the treatment room service run by the district nurse.
